Hola!! Allow me to introduce myself, my friends call me “SusyQ” (named after the salsa move), I am Cuban-American born and raised in Miami. I have been a part of the salsa community since 1998. My first salsa experience was with “Casino” or “Rueda” at Salsa Express Dance Studios. It took me forever to learn the “Dile Que No” and the “Tap”. But once I did, salsa became an instant addiction. My passion and love for the dance soon paid off, and I became an instructor. Salsa dancing became part of my life and everyday routine. After taking a short break from salsa, I decided it was time to learn a different style of dance. I wanted something more expressive, fun and I wanted a challenge. This is how I discovered the “L.A. Style” salsa, which is known for its theatricality, aerobic styling and most importantly musicality.

I did some research on the internet and that is how I found “Salsa Karibe”. From the day I walked into the studio and met Jose Luis, I saw in him the passion and love for dancing that I also had. I knew immediately there is where I wanted to be. I have been with Karibe now for two years and for the last year I have been the smiling face that greets our students at the door and I also teach the beginners class on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Through salsa I have met a lot of great people and have formed some great friendships that will last forever. They are all a part of what I like to call my “Salsa Family”.
